AffiZYME® MycoVisual Kit
The AffiZYME® MycoVisual Kit uses LAMP (Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification) technology to rapidly detect mycoplasma contamination in cell culture supernatants via a distinctive color change. With minimal equipment needs and no complex workflow, this kit is perfect for fast screening in labs without qPCR systems.
Key Features
- Visual Color Change Detection – Purple-red (negative) to yellow (positive)
- One-Step Reaction – Just add sample and incubate
- Isothermal Amplification at 65°C – No thermal cycling required
- Anti-Contamination System – Prevents false positives
- Broad Compatibility – Effective with both adherent and suspension cultures
- Covers 8 Common Mycoplasma Strains
Applications
- Daily or weekly screening of cell cultures
- Labs without qPCR access
- Visual detection in academic or diagnostic research settings
Kit Components
(Detailled kit components provided in the datasheet)
- (1 Vial) AffiZYME® MycoVisual Mix
- (1 Vial) Positive Control
- (1 Vial) Mineral Oil
Protocol Summary
(Detailled protocol provided in the datasheet)
Sample Collection: Use culture supernatant after ≥72 h incubation
Reaction Mix (per tube):
- 19 µL LAMP Mix
- 1 µL sample (or water for negative control)
Incubation: 65°C for 60 minutes
Interpretation:
- Purple-red = Negative
- Yellow = Positive
Avoid opening tubes post-reaction to prevent contamination
Storage & Stability
- Store at –30°C to –15°C
- Ship at ≤0°C
- Stable for 12 months under recommended conditions
Quality Control
-
Each lot is validated for accuracy using known mycoplasma-positive and -negative samples.
