What is Mycobacterium tuberculosis ?

Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The bacteria usually attack the lungs, but TB bacteria can attack any part of the body such as the kidney, spine, and brain. Not everyone infected with TB bacteria becomes sick. As a result, two TB-related conditions exist: latent TB infection (LTBI) and TB disease. If not treated properly, TB disease can be fatal.

Indications : 

• Search out BTB carrier in field
• Screening for test and slaughter government policy
• First step for massive screening instead of PPD in shorthanded situation
• Combine with PPD or IFN-γ assay in eradication system

Sensitivity and specificity : 

The results are all negative when test FMDV and brucellosis.

Limitation of the methodology:

The kit is for screening purpose and on-site test. Positive result shall be further confirmed by ELISA and/or other official methodologies. Diagnosis of bovine tuberculosis shall be determined by the vet, considering both clinical symptom and laboratory test.

The Color of Line T is related to Bovine MTB Mycobacterium tuberculosis Antibody contained in the sample. If the antibody concentration is at very high level, Line T may appear and then be lighter, in this case, please future dilute the sample solution with DD water and run the test again to see a stable Line T.

Sample Preparation:

Serum can be used as the test sample directly.
For whole blood sample, centrifuge it at 3000rpm for 3-5min or store at 4°C overnight, then the supernate used as test sample.

Test Procedures : 

1. The test will take less than 15min.
2. Take out the sample, and bring it to room temperature if it is refrigerated. For example, take the sample and keep at room temperature for 30min.
3. Take the needed test cassette, plastic pipette (100ul micropipette can also be used).
4. Open the foil pack, and take 10ul of serum with pipette, add into the sample well on the cassette carefully, drop by drop and wait for 1min.
5. Then add 3 drops of sample buffer into the sample well on the cassette and observe the result from 15-20min after adding the buffer into sample well on the cassette.

Interpretation :

Negative: Dark Control Line (C) and No Test Line (T)
Positive: Dark Control Line (C) and Dark Test Line (T)
Invalid: No Control Line (C) and No Test Line (T)
Invalid: No Control Line (C) and Dark Test Line (T)
