AffiZYME® RNase R 500 U
RNase R is an exoribonuclease from E. coli that displays 3'-to-5' exonuclease activity, effectively degrading almost all linear RNA species. However, it does not target circular, lariat, or double-stranded RNA with short 3’ overhangs (fewer than seven nucleotides). Therefore, this enzyme is particularly valuable for studying lariat RNAs generated by conventional splicing and circRNAs formed through back-splicing. By eliminating linear RNAs from cellular or RNA extracts, RNase R significantly enhances the identification of circular RNA species through RNA sequencing, allowing researchers to explore the splicing landscape in greater detail.
