AffiVET® Bovine & Goat Tuberculosis (MTB) Antibody Rapid Test
CAT#: AFG-VGS-17
Size: 25 Tests
Method: Rapid Test
Species: Bovine & Goat
Specimen: Serum & Whole Blood
Test Principal:
- This test strip uses a rapid immuno-chromatography technique to qualitatively detect Tuberculosis Antibodies in serum and whole blood samples from bovines and goats.
- During testing, the Tuberculosis Antibodies in the sample bind with the antigens coated with the colloidal gold, forming complexes that move towards the other edge of the strip.
- Upon reaching the T-line, the specific antigen on the membrane captures these complexes, resulting in the appearance of a T-line.
- The presence of a C-line indicates the validity of the test.
- If the T-line appears, it signifies the presence of Tuberculosis Antibodies in the sample.
Material Required:
25X MTB Test card
25X Sample Buffer
25X Dropper
01X Use Manual
25X Sample Buffer
25X Dropper
01X Use Manual
Storage & Expiry Date:
- Store the test kit at 2~30°C. DO NOT FREEZE.
- Do not store the test kit in the direct sunlight.
- The test kit is stable within the expiration date marked on the package label.
Sample collection & Preparation:
Whole blood:
- Collect fresh anticoagulated whole blood and use on the same day.
- Whole blood without adding anticoagulant should be used immediately after collection.
Serum:
- Collect 2 to 3 mL of blood using a clean, dry tube following standard procedures.
- Allow the blood to last undisturbed for approximately 1 hour until it coagulates.
- After coagulation, centrifuge the tube at 4000 revolutions per minute (r/min) for 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can let the blood sit for about 2 hours until it coagulates and naturally separates into serum and clot.
- Carefully separate the clear and bright serum from any hemolysis or contamination.
- The serum should be stored at a temperature between 2°C to 8°C for short-term storage and at -20°C for long-term storage.
Test Procedure:
- Use dropper to absorb the well-prepared sample.
- Drop 1 drop of serum or 2 drops of whole blood into the sample buffer tube vertically and slowly mix it for ready use. (Note that this step is very important, never add too much sample)
- Take out the test card from the bag.
- Use the dropper to absorb the sample.
- Drop 2 to 3 drops into the well marked with “S”.
- Read the results in 10 to 15 min at room temperature.
- The result is invalid after 15 min.
Result Interpretation:
Negative Result:
- Presence of C-Line
- Absence of T-Line
This means there is no MTB antibodies in the sample or the level is lower than the detection threshold.
Positive Result:
- Presence of C-Line
- Presence of Dark T-Line
This confirms the presence of the MTB antibodies in the sample. It is a strong positive.
- Presence of C-Line
- Presence of Light T-Line
This confirms the presence of the MTB antibodies in the sample. It is a weak positive.
Invalid Result:
- Absence of C-Line
- Presence of T-Line
or
- Absence of C-Line
- Absence of T-Line
This means that the procedure was not applied correctly or that the test is invalid.
Cautions:
This kit is designed for detecting Tuberculosis antibodies in bovine and goat sera. Please ensure you understand its intended use completely.
- Read the manual carefully before use. The offered buffer can only be used for this test.
- Avoid using serum from other animal species as a negative control. It is like using "no sample requirement" liquid.
- Do not use product out of date or broken foil bag.
- Return test card and sample buffer to room temperature after taking out from refrigerator, use the test card soon after open package to avoid dampness lead to invalidation.
- Avoid using samples contaminated, with turbidity, severe hemolysis, and large amounts of blood lipids.
- Do not touch the white membrane surface in the middle of test card, avoid sunlight and fan blowing directly.
- The waste of test should be treated as pollution, handle it according to local regulations.
