AffiPCR® Murine RNase Inhibitor (Glycerol-Free)
Our lyophilized Murine RNase Inhibitor, glycerol-free formulation, offers superior thermal and storage stability without the need for glycerol. Unlike human RNase inhibitors, the murine variant is free of oxidation-sensitive cysteines, delivering exceptional resistance to oxidative damage—ideal for assays where reducing agents may interfere, such as qPCR.
Key Features
- Glycerol-Free, Lyophilized Format: Add your own excipients as needed for maximum flexibility.
- Oxidation-Resistant: No cysteines; enhanced antioxidant capacity for sensitive RNA workflows.
- Wide Temperature Range: Active from 25 – 55 °C; heat-inactivated above 65 °C.
- Broad pH Tolerance: Effective from pH 5.0 to 9.0 (optimal at pH 7.0 – 8.0).
- Non-Interfering: Does not affect RNase H or RNase T1, nor common RNA processing enzymes.
Storage & Handling
• Store at –30 °C to –15 °C.
• Ship on dry ice (≤ 0 °C).
• Avoid vigorous vortexing or excessive foaming to maintain full activity.
Applications
Designed to safeguard RNA integrity in any situation where RNase contamination is a concern, including:
- First-strand cDNA synthesis for RT-PCR and RT-qPCR.
- RNA protection in in vitro transcription/translation (e.g., viral replication assays).
- RNase protection assays and other RNA-based analytical workflows.
Source & Unit Definition
Source: Recombinant expression in E. coli of a modified mouse RNase inhibitor gene.
Unit Definition: One unit (U) inhibits 50 % of the activity of 5 ng RNase A, measured by the conversion of cyclic 2′,3′-CMP to 3′-CMP.
Important Notes
- For research use only; not for diagnostic applications.
- Maintain buffer pH between 7.0 and 8.0 for optimal performance.
- Do not vortex—handle gently to preserve activity.
- Does not inhibit RNase H or RNase T1.
